Holy Anticipation

I recently had the opportunity to go on a retreat with the theme, “Holy Anticipation.”
All throughout the week, I kept trying to figure out what the Lord meant by holy anticipation.
For me, anticipation in the past hasn’t always been a positive thing. But while spending time with the Lord, He highlighted Psalm 27:13-14.
King David wrote this psalm to express his confidence in God and what He was doing, while walking out some of his darkest days.
This scripture led me to the Hebrew word “qavah” in Psalm 27:14.
Qavah means to actively wait with anticipation on what God is doing.
It can also mean to bind together like twisted strands of a rope.
In 2026, Arise Church saw much growth and blessings after only two years. But, there is a lot God is not finished with yet.
So how do we "actively wait”?
While we continue to listen and live out our relationship with Him, we look forward to what the Father has planned by continuing to wait, hope, and trust with eagerness.
We can take the second meaning of qavah “to bind together like twisted strands of a rope,” and apply it to ourselves as His body.
We’ve been blessed to have had many new brothers and sisters join us recently.
I believe that as we wait with holy anticipation on what the Lord is doing in us as a church and individuals, this will also bind us together as one in Him.
So, let’s look to the future with holy anticipation and praise and worship in the waiting.
